A student’s journey at Al-Furqan can be summarised aptly with our motto
Work hard, Play hard, Pray hard
At Al-Furqan, we impress the importance of each of the above acts as essential in the absolute development of mind, body and soul. Thus a student’s time at the boys’ college is proportionately spent in academic, physical and spiritual pursuits.
Each boy is recognised as an individual, having strengths and the potential to develop further strengths. The strengths are harnessed and the potentials nurtured to enable the student to develop fully with clarity, value and purpose.
Furthermore, the Islamic ethos adopted within Al-Furqan also embodies the essential attribute of Unity. Differences are valued rather than criticized. Appreciation of race, cultural and social diversities is an important aspect of a student’s educational experience as we prepare them to become leaders of the next generation. As Allah (SWT) says:
“O Mankind! We have created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, so that you may know each other.....” (The Quran 40:13).
Our small numbers, coupled with an open door policy for both students and parents, facilitate an enhanced educational environment where the boys academic and social needs are intimately catered for. Everyday routines, communiqués and actions are interwoven with Islamic values, thereby modelling and reinforcing positive social behaviour. Increasing awareness and knowledge of the divine consciousness within daily custom fosters greater understanding of it. This is what Al-Furqan prides itself upon.
These, Insha’Allah will build the firm and secure foundations whereupon the students can continue to develop and realise their true potential, whilst enriching their identity and moral well being.
